Koraigad is located near small village Peth Shahapur about 25 Kms from Lonavala station . Alvito , Me(Chetan) and Manish catched Indrayani Train(12525) (Second Sitting 2S) from the Thane station at 6:14 am and Rupali and Deepa catched it from the Kalyan station.The Second sitting compartment looks like General dabba but here we have enough space to move and finally we got one seat which I and Alvito shared for whole journey.At about 8:20 am we reached Lonavala station then booked return ticket of the Second Sitting (2S) of INTERCITY EXP(12128) from Lonavala to Thane for me ,Alvito and Manish.
Deepa & Rupali decided that they will go by the General Leadies Coach .After booking ticket , conducted photography session on the station and came out.Taken some snaks (Bhajiya,Wada Paav ) there and carried Maza ,slice with us and asked there how to reach Peth Shahapur.
Some one said that go to straight u will get "Dhangar Putala" (U can see in the photos uploaded ) from there we took left and we got "Bus stand" which has only one "Tapper" so that one will be safe from the rain nothing else .
After 15 minutes one driver came & was saying "Shahapur- Koraigad wale koi hain toh aa jaon" .We asked him for the ticket he told us Rs. 30 .There was one "Maruti Omni" standing we thought that may be the van , later he showed us Jeep ....kamina kahika.Got seat in the jeep having wooden seats and then somehow reached Peth-Shahapur .But yes that jeep journey was also unforgettable.Jeep was open from the backside , so we are getting the beautiful views the nature.
At last we reached the Shahapur and paid him Rs. 150 for five of us (Alvito , Chetan , Manish , Rupali & Deepa alphabaticaliy), driver showed us the way and there were other guys who already visited the Koraigad and told us to follow them.Those 3 guys shows us the road and we also have map..and told us to take right from the temple in Village.
We took our way and started our own journey , some body from behind (one man from the group of the 8-10 )ask us about the Koraigad and we showed him the way ...and those guys were following us.
We did some photosessions in the way and finally we got "Amby Vally" where we realized that we are on the wrong path.Then after one hour "Amby vally Darshan" security supervisor there told us that u can't come here without Gatepass and guided us for the new route with his one of the security guard.When i asked that guard about cost of building he was saying that it costs about 15-16 crores .There we planned our new Bunglow in the Amby Vally City.Some workers demolishing one Bunglow , Guard was saying that this building was fully prepared all the finishing work has been completed but master of that building doesn't liked it so he wants new one and that is why this is happening .
From the end point of the Amby Vally City he showed us "Telephone Tower" and we came out of the City and got the tower and we got way to Koraigad.
We reached koraigad stairs and seen some caves and reached the top and finally ON THE TOP OF WORLD.
What a beautiful atmosphere there......Clouds , Thandi Hawa....Smogy atmosphere....
Taken some snacks and the photosession, proceed to take full view of the Fort ...We got small zarana(waterfall) in fort and there rain started...it was too much cool atmosphere and "thanda thanda pani sab thithurne lage....huhuhu..". 3 Temples are there on the top , we got one called "Koraidevi Mandir" .Rupali and Deepa went inside and later we followed them.
After 1 hr rain stopped and we decided to move down . We got right track this time and reached Shahapur taken some tea and snacks there then catched Private Bus to Lonavala .
When almost 6 Kms was remaining to reach the Lonavala station , Traffic Jam ne Dimag kharab kar diya ...after that we started aur "Dandi Yatra" there onward.
Huuuff..... Me and Alvito reached Lonavala and got ticket for the Rupali and Deepa but by the time our train was moving & we wasted our reserved ticket ......
Then we took general ticket and got return "Indrayani Train(12526)"....and yes reached Thane at 10 pm...and here is the end of our journey..
